About

Hello! I'm Umut, a software developer based in Trier, Germany. I’ve spent the past 7+ years building web applications across frontend and full-stack development. Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of domains, including telecommunications, public-sector systems, hospitality, fitness, and business management. What I enjoy most is building software that solves real problems and remains dependable as it grows.

I started my career working primarily with .NET before moving deeper into frontend development. Over time, my focus shifted toward frontend architecture and technical direction, while continuing to expand my experience with React and Node.js.

I enjoy making thoughtful architectural decisions, collaborating with other engineers, and paying attention to the details that make software feel thoughtfully built rather than simply functional. For me, good software should work well for the people using it and remain understandable for the people who continue building it.

Recently, I’ve also been exploring AI-assisted development and agentic workflows. It’s an area I genuinely enjoy experimenting with as the way we build software continues to evolve.

    • Built and maintained frontend applications in the automotive sector, covering implementation, production releases, and ongoing improvements.
    • Improved frontend architecture, state management, SEO, web performance, and production monitoring across customer-facing applications.
    • Led frontend technical decisions, guided other developers, and coordinated delivery with backend developers and project managers.
    • Worked remotely from Turkey as part of Carmato’s frontend team before relocating to Germany and continuing in a hybrid setup.

    • Developed and maintained frontend features for Canadian telecom provider Videotron’s OSS/BSS platform within a large Angular/Nx monorepo.
    • Led frontend delivery for the MENA adaptation, mentoring junior developers, coordinating work with the Ukrainian frontend team and guiding technical decisions.

    • Built backend and server-rendered UI features for İKSİS, a nationwide HR platform for Turkey’s Ministry of Health designed to support more than one million users.

    • Built and maintained full-stack web products for driving schools, online payments and residential property management, including a custom CMS for managing customer websites.
    • Implemented multi-step workflows, payment and SMS integrations, and real-time notification infrastructure with SignalR. Worked across requirements analysis, data modelling, frontend and backend development, and deployment.

  • Türkiye GYM

    • Co-built the platform in a two-person team, developing most of the .NET backend while contributing to the Angular frontend and database design. It remains in active use by four businesses operating across nine branches.
    • Designed and built the layered ASP.NET Core backend and its core business rules for class scheduling, member billing and trainer compensation. Implemented role-based access, JWT authentication, caching, transaction management, centralized validation, error handling and logging.
